Title: Value of color Doppler ultrasonography in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant space occupying lesions of breast
Abstract: Objective
To analyze the value of color Doppler ultrasonography in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant space occupying lesions of breast.
Methods
Sixty-five patients with breast space occupying lesions were selected as the research objects, and were checked by color Doppler ultrasound and conventional ultrasound examination. Property of leison, benign or malignant, was determined by to the examination results. At the same time, the pathological diagnosis was carried out on all subjects, and the results of the two examinations were evaluated with the pathological diagnosis as the gold standard. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the two diagnostic methods were compared.
Results
In 65 patients, 85 lesions were checked out by pathological diagnosis with 35 cases (41.18%) of benign breast lesions, 50 cases (58.82%) of malignant breast lesions; the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of benign and malignant female occupying lesions were 97.14% (34/35), 96.00% (48/50), 96.47% (82/85), 94.44% (34/36), 97.96% (48/49), which were significantly higher than those of conventional ultrasound[74.29% (26/35), 78.00% (39/50), 76.47% (65/85), 70.27% (26/37), 81.25% (39/48)], the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Color Doppler ultrasound has advantages of high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions in middle-aged and elderly women, and it is worthy of popularization.
