Title: Expression and clinical significance of Survivin and vascular endothelial growth factor in colonic carcinoma tissue
Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Survivin and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in colonic carcinoma tissue.[Methods] The expression levels of Survivin and VEGF were measured by immunohistochemistry in the resected specimens from 80 patients with colonic carcinoma and 20 controls.[Results] The positive rates of Survivin and VEGF were significantly higher in the colonic carcinoma tissues than those in the controls(P < 0.05).The positive rates of Survivin and VEGF in Ⅲ-Ⅳ stage were significantly higher than those of patients in Ⅰ-Ⅱ stage tumor (P < 0.05).The positive rates of Survivin and VEGF in lymph node metastasis tumor were significantly higher than those of patients in non metastasis tumor(P< 0.05).There was positive correlation between the expression of Survivin and VEGF(r=0.563,P < 0.05).[Conclusions] Survivin and VEGF expression levels in colonic carcinoma increases markedly, which plays an important role in the progression of colonic carcinoma.
