Title: Expression and clinical significance of Survivin, MMP-9 and VEGF in colonic carcinoma tissue
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Survivin, matrix metalloproteinase(MMP-9) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in colonic carcinoma tissue and its relationship with tumor progress. Methods The expression levels of Survivin,MMP-9 and VEGF were measured by immunohistochemistry in the resected specimens from 60 patients with colonic carcinoma and 25 controls. Results The positive rates of Survivin,MMP-9 and VEGF were significantly higher in the coIonic carcinoma patients than those in 'controls (P < 0.05).The positive rates of Survivin,MMP-9 and VEGF in Ⅲ - Ⅳ stage were significantly higher than those of patients in Ⅰ - Ⅱ stage tumor ( P < 0.05 ).The positive rates of Survivin,MMP-9 and VEGF in lymph node metastasis tumor were significantly higher than those of patients in non metastasis tumor (P < 0.05).Conclusions Survivin,MMP-9 and VEGF expression in colonic carcinoma increases markedly and play an important role in the progression of colonic carcinoma.
