Abstract: Have you ever wondered about how your clients experience their therapy sessions with you? Measuring the effectiveness of counselling is a task that many therapists feet daunted by both from the perspective of personal vulnerability and the logistics of how to do this in an uncomplicated way that doesn't disrupt the counselling. Bill Robinson from Relationships Australia in Western Australia reports on his clinical experience in applying the outcome - informed client- directed approach advocated by Barry Duncan and Scott Miller in their book 'The Heroic Client'. This is a simple, fast and reliable way to obtain feedback from clients that can inform the counsellor as the therapy progresses about how helpful they are being and give direction to future work.
