Abstract:Objects:To evaluate the effects of age,the duration of menopause,the age of menopause,body height,weight and mass index(BMI) on bone mineral density(BMD) in postmenopausal women in Fuzhou.Methods:The ...Objects:To evaluate the effects of age,the duration of menopause,the age of menopause,body height,weight and mass index(BMI) on bone mineral density(BMD) in postmenopausal women in Fuzhou.Methods:The BMD in lumbar and upper femur of postmenopausal women was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry.The results were analyzed with SPSS software.Results:Age,the duration of menopause,body weight and BMI of postmenopausal women were better respectively related with BMD in lumbar,femur neck and greater trochanter.The BMD in the lower BMI group was obviously less than in the higher BMI group.The main factors affecting BMD in lumbar and greater trochanter were age and body weight,and in femur neck were the duration of menopause and body weight.Conclusion:With the aging of postmenopausal women,their BMD in lumbar and upper femur are getting less.The tendency of osteoporosis in the low BMI group is usually greater than in normal or supper BMI group.Read More
