Title: Mineralogy and texture of the manganese ores of Kodur, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh, India
Abstract: Reports a systematic study by polished surfaces, etch reactions, and x-ray powder analysis of the manganese ores from the Kodur group of mines in eastern India. Braunite, jacobsite, hausmannite, and pyrolusite are primary minerals, in that paragenetic sequence; secondary low-temperature minerals are cryptomelane, coronadite, and gamma -MnO 2 ; supergene cryptomelane and pyrolusite have been derived by weathering and alteration.
