Used for communications and control of such critical services as wastewater treatment system and water system control, and traffic signal system and ITS systems, they have become critical tools for engineers and public works managers. Yet, integrating wireless systems into communities' infrastructure plans has not yet become a standard part of the master planning process. As a result, duplication and inefficiencies in developing these systems is possible.
