Title: Survey on Depression of Patients with Coronary Heart Disease in Ningxia
Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence rate and severity of depression in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods The psychological status in 499 patients with CHD selected from ten general hospitals in three cities of Ningxiawas evaluated with Zung Self-Depression Scale(SDS).Results The scores of SDS in 499 patients were significantly higher than those of the standardized SDS model(P0.01).The prevalence rate of depression was 67.1%.The prevalence rate of depression in female(73.1%) was significantly higher than that of male(62.9%)(P0.05).The prevalence rate of mild,moderate and severe depressive symptoms in patients was 51.7%,34.0%,14.3% respectively.The severity of depression in female were significantly higher than those in male(P0.01).Non-conditional logistic regression model showed that the age,source of income,lost their parents in childhood and physical condition were the risk factors of depression.Conclusion The prevalence rate of depression in patients with CHD was higher.The prevalence rate and severity of depression in female were higher than that in male.The older age,no source of income,lost their parents in childhood and poor physical condition were the major risk factors for depression in patients with CHD.
