Title: Clinical Significance of Detection of Serum Cystatin C in Early Stage of Diabetic Nephropathy
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum cystatin C(Cys C) level in the early stage of diabetic nephropathy. Methods Serum Cys C levels of 100 patients with early stage of diabetic nephropathy were detected by particle enhanced immunonephelometric assay, serum urea(Sur)and serum creatinine(Scr) were measured by biochemistry analysis.100 health check-up individuals were selected as control group. Results The levels of Cys C,Sur and Scr in diabetic nephropathy group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P0.01;P0.05;P0.05).The level of Cys C was correlated positively with Sur and Scr(both P0.01).The positive detection rate of serum Cys C in diabetic nephropathy group was 66.0%,which was significantly higher than that of serum Sur(20.0%;P0.05) and Scr(14.0%;P0.01).Conclusions The positive detection rate of serum Cys C is higher in diabetic nephropathy group. It is considered that Cys C is a good serological indicator for evaluating early stage damage in kidney of diabetic nephropathy.
