Title: The Expression of TopoisomeraseII and P-glycoprotein in Cervical Squamous Carcinoma and Their Clinical Significance
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of topoisomeraseⅡ(TopoⅡ) and P glycoprotein(P gp) in normal cervical squamous tissue, cervical intraepithelial neoplasm(CIN) and cervical squamous carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of TopoⅡ and P gp in 18 cases of normal cervical tissue,28 cases of CIN and 58 cases of invasive cervical carcinoma. Results Normal cervical tissue,CIN and invasive carcinoma all expressed TopoⅡ.And the positive expression in invasive cervical carcinoma and CINⅢ was higher than that in normal tissue and CINⅠ.There is no expression of P gp in normal tissue, and in CINⅠ,CINⅡ,CINⅢ P gp expressed higher than that in invasive cervical carcinoma. The expression of TopoII did not correlate with the differentiation, but the expression of P gp was lower in poorly differentiated carcinomas than that in well differentiated ones( P 0 05).Cordusions Topoisomerase Ⅱ is a useful proliferation marker in the detection of cervical squamous carcinoma.TopoⅡ was expressed highly in invasive cervical carcinoma and could be the target of anti tumor drugs,so TopoⅡ inhibitors should be selected to improve the efficiency of chemotherapy. The expression rate of P gp may not play an important rale in the drug resistance in cervical squamous carcinoma.
