Title: EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATION ON DISINFECTION PROPERTY OF POLYGLYCOL IODINE
Abstract: Polyglycol iodine was prepared by complexation of iodine and polyglycol. In order to know its germicidal efficacy and its related properties, suspension quantitative germicidal test and physicochemical analytic method were used to carry out laboratory observation. Results: The killing logarithm values of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeroginosa in suspension exposed to polyglycol iodine disinfection solution containing available iodine 500 mg/L for 1 min were 5.00 and the killing logarithm value of Candida albicans exposed for 2 min was 5.00.Wiping disinfection with the disinfection solution containing available iodine 3350 mg/L for 1 min killed the natural bacteria on skin surface and hands by a logarithm 1.00.The available iodine content of the stock solution of the disinfectant decreased by 9.25% in average after storing at 37℃ for 90 days. Conclusion: Polyglycol iodine disinfectant solution has good efficacy in killing vegetative forms of bacteria and fungi and is stable.
