Title: RESEARCH ON DISINFECTION PROPERTY OF A SOLID CHLORINE DIOXIDE DISINFECTANT
Abstract: Objective To observe the germicidal efficacy and toxicity of a solid chlorine dioxide disinfectant. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal tests and toxicity tests were conducted. Results The average killing logarithm values of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to the solution containing 30 mg/L chlorine dioxide for 5 min were 5.00. The value of Staphylococcus aureus exposed for 10 min was 5.00 ; the value of Candida albicans exposed for 15 min was 5.00. For the same solution, the average killing logarithm value of E. coli contaminated on cucumber was 3.30 with soaking for 10 min. The qualified disinfection rate of natural bacteria on wooden table surface could be obtained after wiping twice with the solution and contact for 10 min. Toxicity tests showed that the LD50 of solution with 5-fold of applicable concentration was 5 000 mg/kg·bw in acute oral toxicity test in mice. Result of micronucleus test in mice marrow polychromatophilic erythrocyte was negative. Conclusion This disinfectant has good germicidal efficacy and low toxicity.
