Title: Reconsideration of College Students' Cognitive Style of Field Independence and Field Dependence and English Teaching
Abstract: Cognitive style is an important topic in cognitive linguistics and an information production style preferred in individual cognitive activities.Field independence and field dependence is the core of cognitive style,which constructs the theoretical framework of cognitive style and is the key to successful teaching.This paper investigates 50 male students in Computer Department of Liaocheng University and 50 female students in Foreign Business School of Women's Academy at Shandong.And it shows that most examinees are inclined to field independence style and boys are more inclined to field independence than girls;majors have little influence on field independence style;field independence has a positive relation to students' English teaching.This investigation will be effective to the improvement of college English teaching.
