Title: The relationship between blood homocysteine and coronary atherosclerotic heart disease
Abstract: Objective:To study the relationship between the incidence, the development, the therapy, and the prognosis of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD) and plasma homocysteine (HCY).Methods: Highperformance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection had been utilized for the rapid determination of total HCY in serum.Thirty subjects were studied,20 of them had CHD,and the others were healthy controls. Results:The mean HCY from CHD and control group were (16 50±7 90) μmol/L and (7 52±4 00)μmol/L,respectively.The difference was significant ( P 0 01).Conclusions:Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for CHD.
