Title: Eeffect of sevoflurane anesthesia on reducing incidence of postoperative nausea and vomitting in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of sevoflurane anesthesia on reducing the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomitting in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods Eighty cases of liver cancer were randomly divided into the sevoflurane anesthesia group(group A) and isoflurane group(group B),with 40 cases in each group. After induction of general anesthesia, anesthesia in group A was maintained with 2%-3% sevoflurane inhaled, anesthesia in group B was maintained with 1.0% to 1.5% isoflurane inhaled. After the induction of anesthesia, blood pressure, heart rate changes, recovery time, postoperative pain, nausea and vomiting were observed in the two groups. Results The hemodynamic changes in group A were smoother than those in group B(P0.05),postoperative recovery time of group A was shorter than that of group B(P0.05),incidence of vomiting in group A was lower that in group B(P0.05),there was no significant difference in postoperative pain between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The hemodynamic changs of total intravenous anesthesia with sevoflurane for liver cancer surgery is stable, postoperative recovery is quick and postoperative nausea and vomiting is less.
