Title: Two-dimensional ultrasound,Doppler ultrasonography and ultrasonic elastography in differential diagnosis of malignant and benign breast tumors
Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of two-dimensional ultrasound,Doppler ultrasonography and ultrasonic elastography(UE) in differentiating breast malignancy and benignancy. Methods One hundred patients with 125 lesions were examined with two-dimensional ultrasound,CDFI,pulsed Doppler ultrasonography(PDU) and UE,taking pathologic findings as the reference standard. Results Forty patients with 65 lesions were in the benign group and 60 patients with 60 lesions were in the malignant group. The sensibility, specificity, accuracy of two-dimensional ultrasound for differentiation was 80.00%(48/60),78.46%(51/65) and 79.20%(99/125),of CDFI for differentiation was 78.33%(47/60),83.08%(54/65) and 80.80%(101/125),while of PDU for differentiation was 71.67%(43/60),58.46%(38/65) and 64.80%(81/125),respectively.The sensibility, specificity, accuracy of UE for differentiation was 88.33%(53/60),75.38%(49/65) and 81.60%(102/125),respectively.There was significant difference in diagnosis results among the 4 methods(χ2=13.155,P0.05).Conclusion The accuracy of UE in the differentiation of most breast tumors is higher than two-dimensional ultrasound and Doppler ultrasonography.
