Title: Diagnostic value of strain ratio measurement of ultrasonic elastography in breast neoplasm
Abstract: 【Objective】To investigate the diagnostic value of strain ratio of ultrasound elastography(UE) in breast masses. 【Methods】189 patients with breast neoplasm in our hospital from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013 were examined with 2-dimensional ultrasonography and elastosonography. The diagnostic results were compared with final pathological findings. 【Results】There were 136 benign and 66 malignant lesions in the 109 breast masses. The strain ratios between benign lesion(1.86±1.24) and malignancy(5.58±3.87) were significantly different(t =7.964, P 0.01). The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of 2-dimensional ultrasonography was 81.82%, 80.15% and 80.69%; The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of strain ratio measurement with UE was 86.36%, 88.24%, 88.62%; There was no significant difference between these two diagnosis methods(P 0.05). The rate of above indexes were increased to 96.97%、92.65% and 94.06% respectively by combination of 2-dimensional ultrasonography and strain ratio measurement. Combined 2-dimensional ultrasonography with UE obtained higher sensitivity(P 0.05).【Conclusions】 Combined 2-dimensional ultrasonography with ultrasonic elastographic diagnostic method can elevate the sensitivity of diagnosis of breast neoplasm.
