Title: Investigation of the safety of laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical value and safety of laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma. Methods: Sixty cases of laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma from Jul. 2012 to Jul. 2014 were randomly selected as the laparoscopic group,seventy-two cases of traditional open surgery for rectal carcinoma were selected as the control group( open group). The general information, mean operation time, intraoperative blood loss, incision length, postoperative complications, recovery, changes of the preoperative and postoperative cancer cells of peritoneal lavage fluid and the expression of MMP-7,effectiveness of radical cure were compared between the 2 groups. Results: No significant difference was found in the general information of patients( P 0. 05). The mean operation time in the laparoscopic group was significantly longer than that in the open group( P 0. 05). The mean intraoperative blood loss in laparoscopic group was less than the open group( P 0. 05). Length of incision in laparoscopic group was significantly shorter than the open group( P 0. 05). Postoperative recovery situation in the laparoscopic group was better than the open group( P 0. 05). Circumferential resection margin, number of lymph node, tumor to distal margin length, washing liquid positive cancer cells, the positive expression of MMP-7 were not significantly different( P 0. 05). Conclusions: Laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma is safe and feasible, worth clinical application, has the advantages of few blood loss and quick recovery, and in accordance with the radical requirement.
