Title: Expression and significance of p 53 in tumor of breast
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the the expression and it' s significance of p 53 in tumor of breast. METHODS The expressions of p 53 in tissues of 62 cases of mammary cancer and 14 cases of fibroadenoma of breast were examined by immunohistochemical method. RESULTS The positive expression rate of p 53 in mammary cancer was significantly higher than that in fibroadenoma of breast, and that in stage Ⅲ of mammary cancer was higher than that in stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ. There had significance difference between stage Ⅲ of mammary cancer and stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ fo mammary cancer individually, and the positive expression rate of p 53 postive correlated with stage of TNM. There were no significant correlations between the positive expression rate of p 53 in mammary cancer and histological type, histological stage, lymphatic metastasis, situation of ER and PR, age and family history. The expression of p 53 on Korean-Chinese nationality patients were not significantly different from that on the Han-Chinese nationality patients. CONCLUSION The expression of p53 can be a marker in judging mammary cancer and stage of TNM.
