Methods Expression of BMP4 was detected by immunohistochemistry SP method in 42 cases of pancreatic cancer and 10 normal pancreatic samples.Their association with clinical pathology was analyzed. Results The positive rate of BMP4 in the cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in the normal tissues (χ2=13.90,P=0.01) ,and the positive rate was also higher in the cases with lymph node metastasis than without (χ2=9.98,P=0. 02). The rates of BMP4 expression in TNM stage Ⅲ was much higher than that in stage Ⅰ+Ⅱ(χ2=5.32,P=0.02) Conclusion BMP4 is overexpressed in pancreatic cancer and is associated with the invasion and metastasis of the disease, the detection of it may be used as one of the parameters for judgement of the invasion and metastasis of this condition.Read More
