Title: A Phonetic Comparison of Shaanxi Dialect and Gansu Dialect of the Hui Nationality in Middle East
Abstract: The mother tongue of the Hui nationality originated from the mandarin variety in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River subordinate to the northwestern dialects of Chinese in China.The internal distinction is made between Shaanxi dialect and Gansu dialect.Shaanxi dialect belongs to the mandarin variety of Guanzhong area,while Gansu dialect belongs to the mandarin variety of Longzhong area.In the historical development of 130 years,although both have formed the commonly used literary and written language through the intermingling of pronunciations,vocabulary and grammar,each of them has its won daily colloquial language in rural areas by maintaining their own linguistic features and in consequence,a certain amount of difference can be found between them.
