Title: Knowledge and attitude towards AIDS among medical college students in nationalities
Abstract: Objective To estimate the AIDS related knowledge level of medical college students in nationalities and provide the strategies for AIDS prevention.Methods 950 medical college students were selected by cluster-stratified sampling and were asked to fill in the self-made questionnaire form.Results All students had heard about AIDS.More than 94.14% of them knew that AIDS is a kind of infectious disease;more than 97.30% of them knew that AIDS might be transmitted through sexual intercourse;more than 82.42% of them knew that correct use of life jacket can prevent AIDS.But still 75.76% of students on average considered that the HIV carriers equate to AIDS patients;22.65% of them considered that AIDS transmission might be through mosquito biting.Only 67.29% of them learnt that it is of significance to care and help HIV-or AIDS-infected persons for preventing AIDS.Conclusion There were some problems to be solved on medical college students mastering the knowledge of AIDS.We should take some effective measures to interfere directly.
