Title: Cultural Difference and the Methods of Translation
Abstract: Language is the media of culture and translation is the transformation of two different cultures. While one translates the source language, one not only masters two languages but also is familiar with two cultures. In the article seven procedures of establishing cultural equivalence in translation are mentioned: 1) literal translation 2) free translation 3) transliteration 4) explanation 5) analogy 6) similarity 7) combination with several methods.
