Title: The Relationship between Hemorheological Changes and the Anxiety and Depression Symptoms in Schizophrenia
Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between the hemorheological changes and the anxiety and depression symptoms in schizophrenia. Methods 148 cases with schizophrenia of CCMD-3 were checked up for hemorheological indices and Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) before and after 4 weeks of treatment. The data were compared among the groups and the control of the healthy. Results 1. In the group of schizophrenia, the anxiety and depression symptom(HAMD and HAMA) showed significantly positive correlation with the whole blood viscosity(300s -1 and 1s -1 ),low shear reduction viscosity and fibrinogen(P0.05~0.01).2.The group of 77 cases with anxiety and depression symptom(HAMD16 and /or HAMA14) showed significantly higher than those of the control groups(without anxiety and depression, and the healthy,P0.01).These differences showed significantly decreased or even disappeared after treatment(P0.05~0.01).3.The 4 weeks variances of hemorheology in the group with anxiety and depression symptom showed significantly positive correlation with the reduced score of scales and factors of anxiety and depression (P0.05~0.01).Conclusion There were close relationships between the hemorheological changes and the anxiety and depression symptom in schizophrenia. The schizophrenics with anxiety and depression symptom showed even obvious hypervis-semia.The levels of hypervis-semia were in parallel with the anxiety and depression symptoms. It's helpful in recovery to combine treatment with anti-depression drugs.
