Abstract: Objective To explore the influence of comprehensive psychological intervention on psychological status and quality of life in paraplegic patients. Methods A total of 64 traumatic paraplegic patients were randomly divided into the intervention group(N=32)and the control group(N=32).Patients in the control group were given conventional psychological nursing.Patients in the intervention group received comprehensive psychological intervention. The hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) were used to evaluate the mood status, and Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-From Health Survey(SF-36) was used to evaluate quality of life. Results Patients in both groups experienced different degrees of anxiety and depression 72 h after admission.14 days after operation, total scores of HAMA and HAMD in both groups were significantly lower than the baseline at 72 h after admission, while the scores in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P0.05).After operation, quality of life in both the groups was significantly improved, and the scores of 8 dimensions in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive psychological intervention could improve the psychological status and quality of life, and promote the whole rehabilitation process of paraplegia patients.
