Title: In situ intestinal absorption of Irbesartan in rats
Abstract: Objective The purpose of the present study was to investigate the absorption of irbesartan in various intestinal segments,and to study the effect of concentration or pH on the drug absorption. Methods Single-pass intestinal perfusion model in rats were used in our study,We used drug solutions of different concentration and pH to study the drug's absorption rate constant( Ka) and effect absorption coefficient( Peff) in duodenum,jejunum,ileum and colon. Then we study Kaand Peffby one-way ANOVA,with P 0. 05 as difference is statistically significant. Results When we use low concentrations( 50 or 100 mg·L- 1),Kaof duodenum is statistically significant with jejunum,ileum and colon,while Kaof jejunum,ileum and colon were not statistically significant. And Kaof duodenum,jejunum,ileum and colon were not statistically significant when we use a high concentration( 150 mg·L- 1),The drug's absorption were not statistically significant with different pH perfusion solutions. Conclusion Irbesartan can be good absorbed in the whole intestinal,especially in duodenum. And its absorption won't be affected by pH.
