Title: Therapeutic Effect of Therapy of Tonifying Kidney and Removing Blood-stasis and Phlegm for Unstable Angina Pectoris Induced by Coronary Artery Disease:An Observation of 60 Cases
Abstract: Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of therapy of tonifying kidney and removing blood-stasis and phlegm for unstable angina pectoris (UAP) induced by coronary artery disease(CAD). Methods: One hundred and twenty CAD-induced UAP patients were equally randomized into 2 groups: the treatment group was given herbal prescription with the actions of tonifying kidney and removing blood-stasis and phlegm, and the control group was given Simvastatin Capsules and Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets. Blood lipid examination was carried out once per 2 weeks, the parameters of blood lipid including triglyceride(TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). After treatment, the therapeutic effect in both groups was evaluated. Results: The total effective rate was 91.7% in the treatment group and 80.0% in the control group, the difference being significant between the two groups (P0.05). After treatment, TC, TG and LDL-C levels were decreased, and HDL-C was increased in the treatment group (P0.05 or P0.01 compared with those before treatment). TC, TG and LDL-C levels were also decreased in the control group, but the decrease was obvious in the treatment group (P0.05). The attack frequency of chest distress, chest pain and panting was reduced in both groups after the improvement of blood lipid parameters. Conclusion: Therapy of tonifying kidney and removing blood-stasis and phlegm is effective for CAD-induced unstable angina pectoris induced by coronary artery disease through improving blood lipid parameters, reducing attack frequency of chest distress, chest pain and panting, and relieving kidney deficiency syndrome.
