Abstract: Novels of Ming and Qing dynasty depicted figures of a large number of monks and nuns,which could reflect the relationship between Buddhist occupational groups and legal order of society.Monks and nuns in the novels are mostly negative to social order,such as grabbing money through improper means,conniving sex lust,injuring other lives and so on.The reasons for this situation contained the existence of crime of monks and nuns,differences in values and evaluation criteria and the tensions between Buddhistic lifestyles and social governance and so on.
