Title: Clinical significance of retroperitoneal laparoscopy Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty for the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the indications and clinical effects of retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty for ureteropelvic junction(UPJ) obstruction, and review its technical details. Methods:The clinical data of 17 patients with UPJ obstruction who underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty were retrospectively analyzed. There were 11 men and 6 women, and their age ranged from 22 to 38 years old,2 cases were high ureteral orifice,4 cases were complete atresia of UPJ,7 cases were severe simple hydronephrosis,4 cases were compression from crossing vessels and 3 cases were complicated with kidney pelvic calculi. Results:Retroperitoneal pyeloplasty was performed successfully in all 17 cases. The operative time ranged from 80 to 240min(mean 120min).The blood lost ranged from 50 to 130ml(mean 85ml),the mean postoperative hospital stay was 8.5d(range 7-10d).There was no perioperative complication.During the follow up of 3-12 months,no anastomotic stoma stricture of UPJ developed. In the same time, hydronephrosis resolved and renal function improved among these cases. Conclusions:Laparoscopic pyeloplasty offers an effective and safe method, which is an alternative to open surgery in local hospital. It should become the first choice to the cases of UPJ obstruction.
