Title: THE TEMPORAL-SPATIAL EVOLUTION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IMBALANCE IN GUANGDONG SINCE 1979
Abstract: This article uses real per capital GDP in the standard price of the 1979 to analysis the economic development imbalances at city level of Guangdong province since the reform and opening up.We find each City had a rapidly economic development around the stage,but the gaps of the economic development among different regions are more prominent.In time dimension,the economic imbalance experienced four stages as Rapid Expansion → Wavy Expansion→Shrunk Adjustment→Relative Stable.In spatial dimensions,Guangdong province has obviously economic spatial cluster,Pearl River Delta region is the growth pole of economic development.The imbalance among four regions is the main cause of economic development imbalance;polarization effect is dominant in the economic development of Guangdong province,East Wings,West Wings and North Guangdong hardly to catch up with Pearl River Delta region in economic development.Spatial cluster and regional imbalance in economic development promote each other which leads to a clearly path dependence.
