Title: The Clinical Effect of Phacoemulsification in Cataract with High Myopia
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of phacoemulsification in cataract with high myopia.Methods32 cases(51eyes) of cataract with axial high myopia were included. The average of the eye ball axial length was 27.40 mm and the average diopter was(-13.7±0.92)DS,(-3.93±0.23)DC.Scleral tunnel incision and capsular bag phacoemulsification and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation(IOL) were applied. The postoperative vision、diopter and complication were observed and patients were followed up for 3 monthes.Results3 month postoperative best-corrected visual acuity in 30 cases were more than 0.5,8 cases reached 1.0 and the average diopter was(-0.64±0.21)DS,(-0.98±0.37)DC;Postoperative complications included varying degrees of corneal edema and anterior chamber inflammation, which faded in one week. There were 6 eyes which had poposterior capsule opacification and after laser cut the vision elevated.ConclusionPhacoemulsification in treatment of cataract with high myopia is safe and effective. The effect of surgery is closely related with its own degree of retinopathy, identification of IOL degree and skilled surgical techniques are also a direct impact on the extent of the effect of surgery.
