Title: Influence of sex factor on coronary lesion and risk factor in young or middle patients with coronary heart disease
Abstract: Objective:To explore the influence of sex factor on coronary lesion and risk factor in young or middle patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods:Coronary angiography was performed in 337 young or middle patients (age was less than 45 years in male patients and less than 55 years in female patients) who were suspected to be suffering from CHD.Patients were divided into male patients with coronary lesion(n=56) or without coronary lesion(n=73) and female patients with coronary lesion (n=88) or without coronary lesion(n=120).Results:The 57.1% of male patients with coronary lesion had a history of smoking and 42.9% of them had a history of hypertension, and more than those of male patients without coronary lesion(P0.05).For female patients the 53.4% patients with coronary lesion had a history of hypertension and 33% patients had a family history of CHD,and also more than those of female patients without coronary lesion(P0.05).Although there was about 10-year difference in age between male and female patients, characteristics of their coronary lesions were similar(P0.05).The primary risk factor of CHD was smoking duration in male patients(β=6.61,P=0.01);was diabetes duration(β=10.75,P=0.001) and hypertension(β=8.82,P=0.003) in female patients. Conclusion:For young or middle patients with CHD,the characteristics of coronary lesions are similar;however, there is a difference in risk factor of CHD between different gender patients..
