Title: Expression of chemokine receptor CCR7 and its association with lymphatic vessel invasion in breast cancer
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expression of CCR7 in breast cancer and its association with lymphatic vessel invasion(LVI)and lymph node metastasis.METHODS:The expression of CCR7 and lymphatic vessel invasion(LVI)in 102 cases of breast cancer tissue were evaluated by immunohistochemical staining, using monoclonal antibody for CCR7 and podoplanin. The expression of CCR7 in tumor cell cluster, inside the podoplanin-stained vascular space, was also detected with CCR7 and podoplanin by double-labeling immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:CCR7 was positively expressed in 60.8% of the patients.CCR7 expression was significantly correlated with LVI and lymph node metastasis(P0.01),but did not correlate with the age, tumor size, tumor type,or hormone receptor(ER/PR)status.CCR7 expression strenth in tumor cells inside lymph vessel(4.98±2.84)was higher than that of the others(3.84±2.51),P=0.037.CONCLUSION:CCR7 may play a crucial role in LVI and lymph node metastasis.
