Abstract: Huang Ting-jian creates his amorous poetry,out of his Zen Buddhist redemptive compassions.First,it is derived from his Buddhism-related experience and expertise,especially the hard-edged Huanglong School.Second,it relates to Buddhist attitude towards womanhood and to the influence of undifferentiated treatment of golden mean by Zen Buddhism.Third,it springs from his individual poetics,which has been highly informed by Zen Buddhism.Chen Shan,Zhu Xi and others from the Southern Song dynasty are highly affirmative of Huang Ting-jian’s painstaking charity efforts.
