Title: Effect of Exercises and Electrical Stimulation of Pelvic Floor Muscles on Postpartum Incontinence
Abstract: Objective To discuss the clinical effect of exercises and electrical stimulation of pelvic floor muscles on postpartum incontinence. Methods A total of 128 patients with postpartum incontinence were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.Patients in experimental group were treated by pelvic floor muscles training and electrical stimulation, while those in control group were treated only by pelvic floor muscles training.Pelvic floor muscle tension and postpartum incontinence occurrence before and six month after treatment were compared. Results The comparisons of vaginal resting pressure, vaginal squeeze pressure and vaginal muscle contraction duration between both groups after six months indicated statistical difference(P0.05);patients in experimental group improved better in postpartum incontinence(P0.05).Conclusion Pelvic floor muscles training and pelvic floor muscles electrical stimulation are effective for postpartum incontinence, which can promote the recovery of postpartum pelvic floor muscles, and reduce the incidence of urinary incontinence.
