Title: Effect of biofeedback electrical stimulation combined with pelvic floor muscle exercises on the recovery of postpartum urinary incontinence
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of biofeedback electrical stimulation combined with pelvic floor muscle exercises on the recovery of postpartum urinary incontinence. Methods 63 postpartum urinary incontinence women were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. 32 cases in the observation group were treated by individual guidance for biofeedback electrical stimulation combined with pelvic floor muscle exercise, while 31 cases in the control group only accepted pelvic floor muscle exercise. Treatment outcome of urinary incontinence and pelvic muscle functions were evaluated. Results The strength of pelvic floor muscle in two groups was increased after treatment( P 0. 05),in which the improvement of pelvic floor muscle strength in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. The effective rate of urinary incontinence in the observation group(100%) was better than that in control group(77. 4%) after 3 months treatment. Conclusion Individualized biofeedback therapy combined with electrical stimulation of pelvic floor muscle training can improve pelvic floor function and urinary incontinence clinical symptoms in patients with postpartum urinary incontinence.
