Title: CT evaluation on the patients with hepatic carcinoma treated with Ar-He cryoablation or RF
Abstract: Objective:To study the characteristics of CT image of the patients with hepatic carcinoma treated with Ar-He cryoablation or RF and assess the relationship between the treatment and the efficacy.Methods:36 cases of hepatic carcinoma, including 29 cases of primary hepatic carcinoma and 7 cases of metastatic hepatic carcinoma, were enrolled in this study from November,1999 to October, 2002.CT scanning was performed immediately after the treatment and began to recheck 1-2 weeks later. Results:The characteristics of CT image of those patients who received Ar-He cryoablation regimen is a classical “ice ball” and the occurrence rate is more than 70%. The following-up scanning shows that the density of the local lesion is low and without any intensified effect. The CT image of patients who received RF regimen shows that low density umbrella and much lower density umbrella occurred at the lesion and the surrounding. Conclusion:Those patients who showed “ice ball” or low density image on the CT scanning have a better response. There is no significant difference between the primary and metastatic hepatic carcinoma.
