Title: Rhodamine S and Tungstate Determination of Trace Bismuth
Abstract: Spectrophotometric determination of bismuth (Ⅲ) has been studied in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) . Bismuth (Ⅲ) reacts with tungstate and rhodamine S to form the ion associated complex . Its apparent molar absorptivity is 7.73×107 L.mol - 1.cm- 1 at 565nm . Beer's Law is obeyed in the range of 3.0 to 27.5 ng/25mL for bismuth. The ion associated of diverse ions is reported . The method was applied to the determionation of bismuth in nature water . rain . drinking water , and the results were satisfactory.
