Title: Determination of Hydroquinone in Water by PolyAlizarin Red S Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes Modified Electrode
Abstract: The poly-alizarin red S-multi-wall carbon nanotubes modified screen-printed electrode(ARS-MWCNTs/SPE) was fabricated through electro-polymerization for the determination of hydroquinone in water.The electrochemical behavior of hydroquinone on modified electrode was investigated,and the ARS-MWCNTs/SPE showed a strong electro-catalytic activity for the oxidation-reduction of hydroquinone.For the determination of hydroquinone in water samples by differential pulse voltammetry,the peak currents of hydroquinone were linear to concentrations in the range of 5.02×10-5—1.52×10-3mol/L,with the detection limit of 2.37×10-5 mol/L,and the recovery found by standard addition method was in the range of 98.1%—106.9%.The ARS-MWCNTs/SPE can be applied to the rapid insitu determination of hydroquinone in water.
