Title: Determination and Electrochemical Behavior of Hydroquinone at Graphene Oxide Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode
Abstract: An electrochemical sensor was fabricated by coating graphene oxide on glassy carbon electrode. The electrochemical behavior of hydroquinone(HQ) at the modified electrode was investigated by cyclic voltametry and different pulse voltametry. The modified electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic activity for the redox of HQ in phosphate buffer solution at pH 6.5.The experimental conditions including amount of graphene oxide, supported electrolyte, buffer solution pH and scan rate were optimized.Under the optimum conditions, the concentration of HQ showed good linear relationships with the oxidation peak current in the range of 1.0~100.0 μmol/L with the correlation coefficient of 0.989.The limits of detection is 0.1 μmol/L(S/N = 3).The method was applied to determine HQ in simulated water samples with recoveries of 97.6%~103.5%.
