Title: Trigeminal neuralgia treated by radiofrequency rhizotomy under C-arm Xay or CT-guided location target of ovale foramen:a study of 2816 cases
Abstract: Objective To analyze the surgical methods, techniques and effects of selective radiofrequency rhizotomy for trigeminal neuralgia guided by C-arm or CT-guided location target of ovale foramen. Methods The clinical data of 2816 patients with trigeminal neuralgia treated by radiofrequency rhizotomy under C-arm or CT-guided location target of trigeminal ganglion were analyzed retrospectively. The temperature of radiofrequency was 65 ~75℃ and the period was 30 ~ 60s. The effects and complications were analyzed. Results Among 2760 cases which were followed up,pain disappeared completely in 2661 cases( 96. 41%),failed in 39 cases( 1. 4%),and recurrence occurred in 192 cases( 6. 9%) within 2 years post-operation. Conclusion C-arm or CT-guided selective radiofrequency rhizotomy for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is minimally invasive and safe, especially for the elder patients with cardiovascular disease and recurrent cases.
