Title: Relationship between NF-κB expression and lymphatic metastasis in breast cancer
Abstract: Objective:To study the expression and significance of NF-κB p65 and VEGF-C in breast cancer. Methods:Expression of NF-κB p65 and VEGF-C in breast cancer and normal tissue were detected by SABC immunohistochemical staining method and relationship of their expressions with clinical factors was analyzed.Results:76% of NF-κB p65 in breast cancer was significantly higher than 30.0% in normal tissue(P0.05);84.0% of VEGF-C in breast cancer was also significantly higher than 20.0%in controls(P0.05);Significant positive relationship was found between NF-κB p65 and VEGF-C(γ=0.53,P0.05) and their expression was closely related with lymphatic metastasis of tumor.Conclusion:NF-κB p65 can up-regulate VEGF-C expression in breast cancer, resulting in lymphangiogenesis and distension in the periphery of tumor, and then enhance tumor cells metastasize to the regional lymph nodes.
