Title: Therapeutic effect of Carthamus injection on diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Carthamus injection on diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN),and to explore its mechanism of action. Methods 100 patients with DPN were randomly divided into two groups. 80 patients in treatment group were treated with Carthamus injection;20 patients in control group were treated with 654-2. The FBG,HbA1c,6-Keto-PGF 1α ,ET and TXB 2 in both groups were observed. Results The effective rate and total effective rate in treatment group were 61.25% and 82.50% respectively, those in control group were 20.00% and 45.00%,there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.01);after treatment the conduction velocity of pretibial nerve and peroneal nerve in treatment group was significantly improved, as compared with that of control group (P0.01);FBG and HbA1c were slightly decreased (P0.05); 6-Keto-PGF 1α was obviously increased (P0.05); ET and TXB 2 were significantly increased (P0.05). Conclusion The Carthamus injection is effective in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and its mechanism may be related to the improvement of the function of vascular endothelial cells.
