Title: SYNTHESIS AND ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OF CAFFEINE MOLECULARLY IMPRINTED POLYMER MICROSPHERES
Abstract: Molecularly imprinted polymers(MIP) were prepared by suspension polymerization in water utilizing caffeineas imprinted molecules, acrylamide(AM)as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA) as crosslinker. Imprinted polymers were characterized by adsorption properties tests, sorption kinetics tests, FT-IR spectra and SEM images. The results showed that adsorptive capacity of imprinted polymer on caffeine was 1009.5 μg/g, and separation factor was 2.37. In conclusion, micro-spheres with uniform size and preferred shapehave selective adsorption of caffeine with good specificity.
