Title: Practice of Training Professional Nurses from Special Nursing Units for Core Competencies
Abstract: Objective To investigate the training methods for improving core competencies of professional nurses.Methods A training plan containing the basic and specialized knowledge and skills,clinical thinking ability,educational and training capability,management capability and ability to handle emergency were carried out to 103 nurses from special nursing units.Matching,planning,lecturing combined with practicing in time,and practicing combined with discussion were used for training,and the effects were evaluated by testing nurses’ professional knowledge,skills,and comprehensive ability and by investigating patients’ satisfaction.Results The scores of nurses’ professional knowledge,skills,comprehensive ability and the patients’ satisfaction showed significant differences before and after the training(P0.01 for all).Conclusion Cultivation and development of core competencies of nurses contributes to the nurses’ improvement of comprehensive quality;it also helps to improve patients’ satisfaction and quality of nursing service.
