Title: Correlations between plasma concentration of brain natriuretic peptide and left ventricular diastolic function in patients with hypertension
Abstract: Objective:To explore the change and implication of plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) concentrations in patients with hypertension.Methods:31 patients with hypertension and 20 normal controls(NC) were selected in this study. The plasma BNP concentrations was determined by solid-phase immunoradiometric assay.Left ventricular diastolic function and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(E/Em) were studied using Doppler echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging(TDI).Results:The plasma BNP concentrations in 31 patients with hypertension was higher than those in NC group(P0.01).②Compared with NC group,LAD、IVS、LVPW increased,E/A ratio decreased significantly while peak velocity A and E/Em ratio increased significantly in hypertension group(P0.01).Conclusions:Plasma BNP level was elevated in 36 patients with hypertension.Plasma BNP levels in patients with hypertension may be a useful measure of Ventricular structural and functional alterations.
