Abstract: Objective To study the effect and safety of rehabilitation nursing on shoulder function in patients under- going implantation of pacemakers. Methods Eighty-six patients were divided into two groups: rehabilitation group (44 cases) and control group (42 cases). Control group received routine nursing while the rehabilitation group received rehabilitation of elbow and shoulder 24 h after operation. The function of pacemaker and the incidence of complications were observed for 3 postoperative months. Results The function of pacemaker showed no significant diffe- rence between two groups (P0.05). And the incidence of complications was lower in rehabilitation group than that in control group (P0.05). Conclusion Early rehabilitation nursing can effectively prevent the complication, promote the rehabilitation of the function of shoulder and improve the patients' life quality.
