Title: The Application of Functional Theories of Translation in Advertisement Translating
Abstract: It is put that functional theories of translation refers to both German functionalist approaches, mainly the skopotheorie and the translation theory based on Halliday’s functional grammar. This article discusses how to realize the purpose and function of advertisement in the plane of idea, text and interperson, taking the skopotheorie as the fundament in the translation process of advertisement.
