Title: Effect of aspirin on plasma NO and alpha-granule membrane protein in patients with acute cerebral infarction
Abstract: Aim: To investigate the effect of aspirin on plasma levels of nitric oxide(NO) and alpha-granule membrane protein-140(GMP-140) in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods:A total of 83 cases of acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into the aspirin group (43 cases) and the control group (40 cases). Plasma NO and GMP-140 were determined by using the method of nitrate reductase and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in aspirin group and control group at moment of hospitalization and after two weeks. Results: Plasma NO and GMP-140 of aspirin group after treatment were statistically lower than that of the control(P0.01), but ESS of the 2 groups had no significant difference after treatment(P0.05). Conclusion: Aspirin can reduce plasma NO and GMP-140 in patients with acute cerebral infarction, thus ameliorate brain injury after ischemia.
