Title: P53 and MVD expressions and their correlations in non-small cell lung cancer
Abstract: Objective:To study the expressions of P53 and microvessel density(MVD) and their correlations in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and discuss their significance in carcinogenesis and progression of lung cancer. Methods: The expressions of P53 and MVD in 80 non-small cell lung cancer tissues,20 benign lung tissues were examined by use of SP immunohistochemistry. The number of microvessel labelled by anti-CD34 monoclonal antibody in lung cancer tissues was calculated. Results: The positive rate of P53 expression in lung cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in benign tissues(P0.05).No significant correlation was found between the P53 expression and histological type(P0.05).P53 expression was closely related with cell differentiation grade,TNM stages and lymph node status of lung cancer.MVD in lung cancer tissues with positive expression of P53 was significantly higher than that with negative expression of P53(P0.05).Conclusion: P53 may be closely related with carcinogenesis and development of lung cancer.MVD of lung carcinoma is closely related with the P53 expression. The mutant P53 gene could play an important role in the control of vascularization.
